Body/Mind/Spirit: Maintaining and Encouraging Flow

Clearing the blocks to positive energy flow, and maintaining the clear path- job #1- opens the energy pathways. Once opened to the positive energy flow the “society” of mind/body/spirit is free to progress. However this is only half the story. Thus far we are kind of “in neutral” without a strong positive direction. By all means we continue to use the techniques on these related issues as they crop up. Also we can call on positive emotions to encourage positive energy flow.

Positive emotions are known to produce physical and mental well-being. Sarah Pressman, assistant professor of psychology at KU and Gallup senior research associate report about a Gallup World Poll study in which researchers analyzed data involving more than 150,000 adults “showing that positive emotions such as happiness, enjoyment are unmistakably linked to better health.”

“Laughter is the best medicine.” We have all heard that; and Norman Cousins credits laughter, along with medical supervision and vitamin C with curing his “incurable” disease. Love is essential for an infant’s well-being, as many studies now show. The child within each of us still needs that love. Even in the absence of someone currently in our life to give or receive love, in our imagination we can give ourselves (and others just as profitably) that love as well as forgiveness and blessings.

There is indeed Power in Positive Thinking.

The Law of Attraction: Getting Beyond the Box

The Law of Attraction: Getting Beyond the Box As we become clear of the negative forces (incorrect, negative fear programs) that are keeping us trapped in our box we become empowered to attract to ourselves the desires of our heart. The shell of the “bubble of reality” that we have formed (in a way, this is the reality that we have created for ourselves) vanishes and we gain access to the infinity of reality that lies beyond. From this positive place, we begin to manifest our desires into our reality. What we ask for will be given to us. There are some rules... What we ask for must be positive, imbued with our own positive feelings. The Greatest Miracle Worker ever, Jesus Christ, taught us how to ask: Therefore I say unto you, whatever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you will receive them, and you shall have them. (Mark 11:24, KJV) If you are not congruent in your request, or if you have doubts or fears interfering with your belief that you can receive your request, you may need to do more clearing work by subtracting negative programs, in order to congruently believe in your request.

turning negatives into positives

The “new math”: you can turn a negative into a positive. We are seeking a “new level of consciousness”, as per Einstein’s suggestion that problems may only be solved from a different, new level of consciousness. For our purposes here that means reaching a positive level of consciousness. With the EFT and NLP techniques described in the earlier posts you are poised to achieve this. WHEN YOU SUBTRACT A NEGATIVE, IT IS THE EQUIVALENT TO ADDING A POSITIVE; thus you can reach a positive consciousness simply by subtracting the negative programs! Applying the EFT and NLP techniques have the effect of eliminating negative programs they are applied to! The negative programs are what constrains us to “staying within the box” as referred to in an earlier post. The negative programs- especially the fears and phobias- keep us from venturing outside our comfort zone. This puts a whole new light on our negative fear, pain and other limiting programs. As we discover negative programs within ourselves we are actually faced with opportunity. These now become our pathway for a quantum leap to positive: as we discover these negative programs and divert them to positive ends we subtract the negatives. Freed of the negative program, our thinking expands outside the box and our consciousness expands. All of a sudden it becomes desirable to encounter a negative program within yourself! This means that you have identified a negative that you can eliminate and therefore become more positive. As you eliminate your negative programs you are enabled to “pump yourself up” with positives, but not before because you self-sabotage your positive intents with the negative programs under the positive strata. So priority #1 is to identify and delete the negative programs. It is as simple (not easy as) as 123: 1. Identify a negative program 2. Eliminate it with EFT or NLP technique (see previous 2 posts) 3. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Start by making a list of all the instances that you find problematic. This would be situations that make you feel uneasy od uncomfortable. Next, apply the EFT tapping technique to that program. If this is a very problematic situation, that is GOOD. The more negative the program you eliminate, the more positive the gain. Finally, now search within for more problem areas. Odds are that you will become aware of deeper issues once you uncover the topmost problem. Continue down through the stack of negative issues and you will finally encounter the initial primal negative program. This is the initial NEGATIVE IMPRINT PROGRAM that you were most likely unaware of, and the elimination of which (by EFT or NLP technique) will propel you into a new state of consciousness OUTSIDE THE BOX!

The Neurology of Positive Thinking

There are one or two hundred Billion neurons in your brain, interconnected in an infinite number of ways. This is the vast storehouse of everything that you have experienced in your life. Your consciousness resides here.

You interact with the outer world through your senses: information comes in to your brain via nerves connected to your sense organs. You filter out most of the information only allow what you focus on to register in your brain. This is where reality starts.

Your reality, then, is dependent upon what you focus on. If you focus on what is positive, your reality becomes positive.

Positive Thinking Lesson Plan

Positive Thinking Lesson Plan

There is a parallel blog under construction, the Positive Thinking Lesson Plan Blog. As the positive thinking lessons are constructed they will be mirrored with discussion entries on this site. This blog is under construction, as we are all under construction. Your comments and suggestions are welcome. Your ideas will be integrated with mine which are but an integration of many others’ ideas in the first place.

Then let us begin, and at the beginning. The fundamental principle of positive thinking lies in knowing what direction is positive. Which way is up? The answer to that question lies in knowing two things:
• Where are you now?
• Where do you want to be?

We have each been put on this earth for a purpose that we can uniquely accomplish. Our journey pursuing that purpose, our life’s mission, begins with one step: a small first step. What is your direction?

Write it down. You can change it tomorrow. Let's get started Now.

The Society of Mind

The Society of Mind

Marvin Minsky, in his book by the same title, suggests that our mind is not just a stimulus-response mind, but more like a Society of Mind. In his work on artificial intelligence, he develops a theory of agents within the brain, that working together as a whole (a society) produces the natural intelligence we humans possess. For more information see: http://web.media.mit.edu/~push/ExaminingSOM.html

The model of the mind presented in The Psychology of Positive Thinking similarly suggests that there are an infinite number of agents (neuron cell assemblies and cell assembly programs) that in themselves have no consciousness but together, as a Society, produce the effect that is our stream of consciousness, our mind.

What forms these agents, these neuron networks? The information we focus on through our senses. Thus it behooves us to attend to positive influences. As a man thinketh, so is he! (Proverbs 23:7)

Positive Thinking in The Power of Now

Eckhart Tolle tells us of the miraculous Power of Now, in his book by the same name. In A New Earth Eckhart shows how we are caught in the stranglehold of the past by the egoic mind and the pain body. As we become self-aware and recognize these negative influences we escape the past and become empowered in the Now.

The Psychology of Positive Thinking examines these concepts from the point of view of the model of the mind that it presents. We can see that Eckhart not only makes good spiritual sense, but also makes good scientific, logical, and philosophical sense. The Power of Now, is in many ways, the Power of Positive Thginking.
